Message to Customers
Dear Valued Customers
In the District Court this morning, a former employee of Public Trustee, Alana Bartels, was sentenced to five years and six months imprisonment with a non-parole period of two years and six months for a series of dishonesty charges.
The sentence imposed reflects the seriousness of these offences.
Following Ms Bartels’ arrest, Public Trustee implemented a number of measures to strengthen processes and reduce the risk of further corruption and misconduct, and work in relation to improving our practices and procedures is ongoing.
