New Legal Expertise at PT

Public Trustee’s (PT) legal team grew in October, welcoming Senior Solicitor Mr Michael Spencer and Legal Officer Ms Rebecca Field. The legal team is responsible for a broad range of services arising from statutory obligations, as well as providing advice and representation to the business and its customers.

Michael graduated from the University of Adelaide with Honours in both Science and Law and qualified as a lawyer in 2002. In his early years in Adelaide, he worked in private practice in areas of law including personal injury, employment and commercial litigation.

From 2007 to October 2016, Michael worked in London, holding positions in London’s largest group of private hospitals, in private practice and in the UK’s Government Legal Department. However, during a brief time back in Adelaide in 2010 and 2011, he worked at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and the Civil Litigation Section of the Crown Solicitor’s Office.

After nearly 15 years as a litigation lawyer, Michael has acted in cases covering almost all areas of litigation and at all levels of the courts. He is well-placed to support PT and its customers in complex legal matters.
